Adeniyi Olagunju

Adeniyi Olagunju is a Reader in Perinatal Systems Pharmacology at the University of Liverpool whose research focuses on improving the safety and precision of substance use disorder treatment during pregnancy. Recognizing that pregnancy can substantially alter how medications are processed, his work seeks to generate pregnancy-specific evidence to better inform dosing and safety decisions for both pregnant patients and developing babies. He is developing an integrated platform that combines maternal-fetal pharmacokinetic modeling, human-relevant laboratory models, and clinician-facing decision-support tools. His work aims to translate complex pharmacological and safety data into practical guidance that supports more individualized treatment decisions and improves maternal and infant outcomes.
