Dr. David Barker

Dr. David Barker is an assistant professor at Rutgers University. Chronic pain presents a significant challenge for patients and burdens our healthcare systems substantially. While opioids effectively address acute pain, their utilization in managing chronic pain comes with a high risk of misuse and addiction. Dr. Barker and his team are working on creating a new class of pharmacotherapy for pain and related disorders, aiming to reduce abuse potential.
