Dr. Gabriel Odom is an Assistant Professor of Biostatistics and Data Science at the Florida International University. He was working with Dr. Brandt, as a team, on developing a novel Algorithm Research Organization to improve clinical trial protocols and algorithms in substance use disorder research. Their service-based innovation promises to address health disparities exacerbated by inflated algorithmic error rates in subpopulations underrepresented in research, such as minoritized ethnic/racial groups, women, older adults, and rural populations.
