Meghan Deshais is an Assistant Professor at Rutgers University Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology. Dr. Deshais is tackling Stimulant-Use Disorder (StUD) with Innovative Digital Therapy! Stimulant-use-related deaths account for 40% of all overdose deaths in the U.S., yet no FDA-approved medications exist for StUD. In collaboration with individuals with lived experience, Dr. Deshais is developing a digital therapeutic to incentivize stimulant abstinence and engagement in healthy activities like exercise. By leveraging smartphone capabilities, they can objectively verify progress, making this evidence-based intervention more accessible and impactful for those facing StUD.
