Alexa Anderson
Alexa Anderson is an Associate Professor of Nursing at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee whose work focuses on closing the gap between evidence and practice in substance use prevention and treatment. Her research examines how proven approaches, including Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment and contingency management, can be more effectively integrated into primary care and community health settings. She is developing scalable implementation strategies that reduce stigma, minimize disruption to clinical workflows, and support patient engagement, with a particular focus on expanding access to evidence-based substance use care in community and underserved healthcare settings.
