Evan Hitch

Evan Hitch is a Counselor at Catholic Charities of Long Island whose work focuses on supporting individuals in recovery from substance use disorders. Recognizing that digital environments can expose people to substance-related cues that may contribute to craving and relapse risk, he is developing TriggerShield, an AI-enabled digital health platform designed to give individuals greater control over their online experiences. The proposed technology would allow users to personalize their digital environments by identifying and optionally filtering or modifying substance-related imagery across websites and other platforms. His work aims to extend recovery support into everyday digital life, creating a user-directed tool that could complement traditional treatment and peer recovery services.
