Nasim Maleki

Nasim Maleki, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School whose research explores how physiological and behavioral signals can be used to improve recovery support for people with substance use disorders. She is developing a wearable-enabled precision recovery platform that integrates measures such as sleep, heart rate variability, stress, activity, and self-reported cravings to identify individualized patterns associated with increased relapse risk. Using machine learning, the platform aims to recognize changes in these patterns and provide personalized, just-in-time support. Her work seeks to extend recovery care beyond scheduled clinical visits and make continuous, individualized support more accessible across diverse communities.
