Kelly J. Clark, MD, MBA, is a psychiatrist and addiction medicine specialist who has focused her career on issues of evidence informed behavioral health care, addictive disease, innovation, quality care and payment reform. Kelly has been Chief Medical Officer of two privately backed companies (Behavioral Health Group and CleanSlate), as well as a medical director at health plans (CDPHP, CVS Caremark), a pharmaceutical company (Orexo/Touchpoint), and is actively advising early-stage behavioral health companies including Bicycle, Within, DisposeRx, and Journey Colab.
Recent presentations and panels regarding innovations in addiction / behavioral health include at Milken Global (2023), NIDA (2022, 2023), and the FDA (2022), additionally providing her expertise to public and private health care companies as well as a wide range of governmental agencies. Kelly is co-chair of the recent National Academy of Medicine Opioid Collaborative’s Telehealth for Pain and Substance Use Disorders series, co-chaired the Research and Data and Metrics group for 4 years, and co-authored the NAM Opioid Collaborative “Guide for Future Directions for the Addiction and OUD Treatment Ecosystem”. Dr. Clark is a recipient of the Alumni Who Matter Award from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, as well as the John P. McGovern Award from the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM), of which she is a past president.
